Player Regulations

After registration, athletes playing flag football will be assigned to a team appropriate to their age division. CCC Youth Sports Football will try to accommodate the requests of parents for their son or daughter to play for a particular coach or with a friend, but this is no guarantee. Non-member teams who want to join our league may do so with the approval of the GM of CCC STARS Football. CCC STARS Youth Sports Football reserves the right to mix players from current registrations with any team in our league as deemed necessary for the betterment of the league. The head coach agrees to participate in the “More Than a Game” program.

Any player that is assigned to a team and meets the age requirements for flag football will be permitted to play until he has been disqualified for undesirable conduct, as defined in the Player Codes of Conduct. No player will be disqualified until final review by the CCC STARS Youth Sports Football Leadership Team, and final approval made by the GM of STARS Football and STARS Athletic Directors. The Leadership Team and GM of STARS Football will meet with the athlete, his/her parents or guardian, and the coach to discuss the rules violation and sanctions. When a player is released he/she will not be permitted to play with another team.

Each player will play every game unless injured, or if the player is being disciplined for violating league’s rules of conduct. CCC STARS Youth Sports Football does not count plays to document an athlete’s playing time. However, the head coach will ensure that each player plays multiple plays during each game. Coaches will target 50% of playing time for all players on his/her team.

Players must attend one practice a week to ensure the appropriate amount of playing time in games. CCC Youth Sports Football reserves the right to evaluate a player(s) to ensure the safety of the player, other league’s players, and the best interest’s of the player and league. Coaches are encouraged to Platoon players during games, by using the targeted 50% playing time goal. The GM of CCC STARS Football will discuss and mediate playing time issues with the head coach and parents on a case-by-case basis to resolve any conflicts. CCC Youth Sports Football Leadership Team will review subsequent playing time violations by a coach, and the GM of STARS Football will have final say on any decisions and resolutions regarding playing time.

No player will be permitted to transfer from one team to another without permission, agreement of coaches, and approval of the GM of CCC STARS Youth Sports Football.
